Speedo/Comme des Garçons Swimwear Collaboration

Imagine if I showed up poolside in this:

It would be one thing if I proceeded to swim a medley of freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke, and butterfly. But I'm in the pool a lot because I'm in love with this class where we do aerobic kicks and drills in the water (ala that Bill Murray pool scene in Lost in Translation). My favorite part is where we use those noodles to stay afloat while pretending to be seahorses. Cool, right? Don't knock it until you've tried it.

So, I don't think the LZR Racer that Speedo and Rei Kawakubo designed for the '08 U.S. Olympic swim team will be appropriate. I like the non-olympic styles - I can envision a seahorse wearing these (especially that first collection). Alas, still not available in the states!

2008: Third Collection (Current)

2007: Second Collection

have you seen the supremely dorktastic men's collection? i have to say, i'm surprisingly attracted to the brooks brother/CDG collab, and sort of lukewarm to the fred perry/CDG one. and i heart fred perry as much as rei kawakubo.

ps--nothing came of the old friends reunion regarding j. morgan. alas, we have all drifted apart....

Mwahaha - men's collection is, mwahaha. Have you seen the Lacoste/CDG collab? What's next, Wet Seal/CDG collab? Oh wait, that would be H&M - which I'm lining up for (I'm no snob!).

Ahhh, as someone who is trying to organize a reunion of friends - I sympathize. Just today it came to my attention that maybe not everyone has time for old friends. :(

i'm sure you've seen the preview of the cdg/h+m collection. eeep! i luff it! it's sort of japanese harajuku in the eighties (like the cheap no-label stuff you could buy in shinjuku) but heck, i loved that stuff and glad that part of the eighties is back. i really adore the men's stuff (except that hideous polka dotted polo short set). i might have to pressure my friends to pick up that peacoat and white button hole stitch jacket for me....

Santos, I love it - well, most of it. That ruffly coat dress is a little too gothic lolita for me, which gives me the creeps (haha, I know, but that whole trend scares the bejesus out of me). And I'm not a fan of the salwar-like pants. Am I still lining up - YEAH!!!
